Assessment Policy

Our Initial Assessments Policy:

General Counseling:

*Our initial assessments are designed to help individuals determine if our staff and services are a good match for their needs as well as an evaluation for our clinicians to determine if our philosophy, resources, & level of care are a good match for the individuals needs and goals. Referrals to other resources may occur when evaluation is fully completed.

Eating Disorder Counseling:

*For all individuals with Eating disorders or history of eating disorder that are seeking our services, all individuals must complete an Eating Disorder Nutritional Assessment. This EDN assessment is completed in two separate appointments scheduled with one of our eating disorder intake therapists and then with one of our eating disorder intake nutritionists. This EDN will determine treatment planning and/ or recommendations for level of care or referral if needed when evaluation is fully completed.

Individual Sessions

Individual counseling sessions always begin with our “get to know YOU” session. It’s important for you to feel comfortable with your therapist, their philosophy, and their style of counseling so our first appointment with you will last about 1 hour and include a new client assessment questionnaire. All other appointments will last about 45 minutes.

EATING DISORDER AND NUTRTIONAL ASSESSMENT (EDN)

2 hour psychosocial eating disorder assessment and review with a therapist (1.5 hr of assessment which is followed by a 30 min review session) and 1 hour nutritional assessment with a dietitian for all clients that have active or history of an eating disorder.

This comprehensive assessment and evaluation provided by our team is at the heart of developing the most optimal treatment plan and objective goals for your needs as well as match you with a clinician or referral source that best fits your treatment needs.

Good Faith Estimates:

A Good Faith Estimate is an estimate of the total expected costs of non-emergency healthcare items or services.

GFE is provided for clients who meet the following criteria:

A GFE must be provided to all uninsured (or self-pay) individuals who schedule items or services or request a GFE.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

  • Intends to offer predictability & transparency in how much self pay & uninsured clients will be charged for healthcare services prior to their appointment.
  • Includes all regularly scheduled appointments (i.e. therapy sessions).
  • Does NOT include no-shows, late cancellations, or other services related to crisis care, which by definition are unexpected and cannot be predicted for the purpose of compiling a Good Faith Estimate in advance.

In my practice, I offer Good Faith Estimates that project out 3months to 12 months in advance. Essentially, your estimate will give you a reasonable idea what to expect in terms of therapy costs for the assigned time frame, based on my current rates and the frequency of sessions that we mutually agreed upon in advance.

You will receive a Good Faith Estimate for your initial assessment and then your therapist/clinician will provide you with your follow up Good Faith Estimate if you chose to continue services at our office.
